YORK COUNTY, Va. — A man working at an AutoZone took action against a known thief only to lose his job over the encounter a few days later.
According to WTKR, a man dubbed the “Fake Beard Bandit” had successfully robbed more than 30 businesses in the area, including the AutoZone, before taking a second shot at the store.
When an employee recognized the suspect and saw a gun, he slipped out the door, grabbed a personal weapon from his vehicle and went back in to try to control the situation.
The would-be thief left without a dime.
Two days later, the employee was fired due to the company’s zero tolerance policy for having weapons inside the store, WTKR reported.
