CANTON, Ohio — Canton police say they have a suspect in the carjacking and robbery of three teenagers in Canton early Friday morning.
“We made contact with two juveniles who claimed they were carjacked earlier in the morning and there was a third victim who was with them at the time that was knocked unconscious and was left at the scene,” said Captain Dave Davis.
Police said the third teen, Alan Strelecki, was found by a family member in the 600 block of Fulton Road NW just before 10 a.m.
He was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries, police said.
Police say Strelecki was left unconscious in the street after three men approached him and two other friends in their car in the 1100 block of Cleveland Avenue around 2:40 a.m.
The suspects allegedly robbed the teens at gunpoint, then struck Strelecki in the head with a gun and took off, with his two friends still in the car.
“The robbers then drove the two carjacked teens to a nearby ATM and forced them to withdraw money. A short time later, they were released in the area of Georgetown and Trumph, where they called 911,” said Captain Davis.
Both teens were uninjured.
“We went down to the scene of the robbery and we couldn’t locate the juvenile at that point and that’s when we started our search for him,” said Captain Davis.
Police say the teens were robbed of money, clothes, and even their shoes.
Meanwhile, Canton police are looking for the stolen vehicle which is described as a 1999 Buick Century, with Ohio license plate number: CCU6432.
